Its Story
When I was 12 years old, I started beekeeping with my mom. I didn’t expect it to turn into anything more than a hobby, but as we learned how to care for the hives, we ended up with extra beeswax that we didn’t want to waste. I started researching ways to use it, and that curiosity eventually led me to experiment with making lip balm.

At the same time, I was learning more about how important honey bees are to the environment. Honey bees are responsible for pollinating nearly 80% of the world’s food crops, yet their populations are declining due to habitat loss, pesticides, and environmental changes. That combination of having extra beeswax and learning how much bees actually matter is what inspired me to start Bee Smooth.
Where It’s At
What began as a batch of peppermint lip balm turned into a full small-batch brand. Bee Smooth grew from the idea that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated or wasteful. I wanted to create products with organic ingredients and beeswax from our own hives, while also helping raise awareness of the importance of honey bees. It felt important to me that the brand reflect care for both people and the environment.
I designed the original logo when I was twelve, which is what sparked my love for graphic design. Since then, I have completely rebranded it, making it unified and coherent. The message stayed the same, but the identity needed a refresh. Owning Bee Smooth has given me extensive experience in branding and shown me where my graphic design niche lies.
